Hunza, the valley of dreams where the cherry blossom trees put on a spectacular show in summer, and the frost-covered mountains and icy Attabad Lake create a scene straight out of a snow globe in winter, is located in the Gilgit-Pakistan region of Pakistan. A week in the majestic Karakoram mountain ranges is enough to transform you. It offers something for everyone, be it mountaineers, explorers, couples or tourists. Higher up is also the iconic Khunjerab Pass connecting Pakistan to its great neighbor China. Baltit is a popular tourist destination because of the spectacular scenery of the surrounding mountains like Ultar Sar, Rakaposhi, Bojahagur Duanasir II, Ghenta Peak, Hunza Peak, Passu Cathedral, Diran Peak and Bubli Motion (Ladyfinger Peak).

Khunjerab Pass is the world’s highest paved international border crossing at an elevation of 15,397 feet in the Karakoram Mountains on the northern border of Pakistan's Region of Gilgit–Baltistan (Hunza and Nagar Districts) and on the southwest border of China (the Xinjiang region). The “Eighth Wonder of the World”, the Karakoram Highway, (a 1300 km long road) passes through the Khunjerab Pass to become the China National Highway 314 on the other side. The Pass also boasts of the highest ATM in the world on the Pakistani side from the National Bank of Pakistan and 1LINK. The iconic, rectangular, grey-white pass is the highest point on the Karakoram Highway; a renowned tourist attraction and an endpoint for various adventure cycling tours.
