Rawal Lake – The Most Scenic and Spectacular Lake in the City
Islamabad is very famous amongst tourists for sightseeing purposes. The city is rated to be one of the most planned and well developed cities in Pakistan and hence it has been labeled as the capital of Pakistan as well. The city was developed and constructed way back in 1960’s and it was during that time that Karachi was replaced with Islamabad being the capital city of Pakistan.
A lot of planning was involved behind the development and hence it has been divided into eight different zones, which includes sectors like educational sector, commercial sector, residential sector, diplomatic enclave etc.
There are a lot of tourist attractions in the city that are worth visiting and Rawal Lake is one of them. Rawal Lake is a man-made lake that is located near the Rawal Dam. It is one of the most visited spot by families especially for family outings or picnic purposes. The lake is not located in the city but it is located on the outskirts of both Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The artificial lake is known for providing and giving access to water to the two twin cities.
The lake is surrounded by beautiful lush green forests and Margalla Hills National park is also located nearby.
