Payee Lake – Centre of the Meadow
Payee Lake is located in KPK province of Pakistan, near Shogran and Kaghan Valley. The lake is located at a height of 7,749 feet and the overall height if the lake is approximately 10,000 feet. The lake is closest in proximity with places like Makra Peak, Balakot and different mountains that are present in Kashmir.
Payee Lake is considered to be a sister lake to the very famous Siri Payee Lake. The Siri Payee Lake is famously known for its old folklore tale according to which the name of the lake was derived from a famous incident. It is believed that a sufi Saint threw the head and feet of a goat he sacrificed on two different places. The places where the parts fell is where the two lakes exist today.
