Masherbrum or K1 – The 22nd Highest Mountain in the World
Masherbrum Mountain is the 22nd highest mountain in the world and it is considered to be the 9th highest in Pakistan. The mountain was the first one to be mapped out within the Karakoram mountain range due to which it is also known as K1.
The peak is the most striking one amongst the rest and it has numerous other famous peaks located nearby, which includes K2, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II and the Broad Peak. The mountain is located in the southern side of the Baltoro glacier. There are two rivers flowing on the either side. The river in the south flows directly to the Arabian Sea whereas the river on the northern side flows into the yellow sea.
There are many trekkers who access the mountain with the help of the Baltoro Glacier.
