The capital of the Ghanche district located in Gilgit Baltistan is the Khaplu Valley. It is considered to be the second largest kingdom in the city of Baltistan. The district of Ghanche is known famously for the mesmerizing valleys and the hospitable people who treat visitors with utmost respect, importance and care. The way that leads visitors towards the Khaplu valley is filled with trees that have turned all yellow over the years. In order to reach the valley one has to cross the River Shyok.

Khaplu valley is considered to be the coldest place that exists in the northern area mainly because the temperature can hit as low as -20 degree Celsius. The place is very beautiful and it has a lot of tourist attractions that can make a trip memorable. The place can be visited in private cars, jeep or public transport. It is approximately 103 KM away from the city of Skardu.

The valley is famously known for the mosque that is at least 700 years old. It was founded by Ameer Kabeer Syed Ali Hamadani RA.
