Kalam

Kalam Valley is a beautiful sub-valley of Swat is no less than a heaven for vacationers. The valley of Kalam is encircled by thick and lush green forests where the pristine blue lakes and waterfalls make it a place you must visit once in your life.

However, like all other breathtaking works of nature, the valley is not directly accessible from the city. So, if you are ready to surrender yourself before the might of nature, then Kalam is the place you must head for an unforgettable experience.

Located in the Upper District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the valley is a testament to some of mother nature's most wonderful attributes. It is present in upper Swat at nearly 100 kilometers from Mingora and about 330 kilometers from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. The Kalam Valley hill station is at an elevation of 2000 meters, while the other attractions of this area are raised to 20,000 feet.

Kalam is known to be the most charming and attractive tourist destination present within Swat Valley. The beautiful rivers of Kalam shape themselves through the melting of snow-capped peaks that surround the valley.

Regardless of the elevation, Kalam Valley provides room for a small yet fertile plateau ideal for farming by locals above the Swat River. The metalled road ends in the valley, and then a single road further leads to the Utror and Ushu valley. From Matiltan, you can witness the amazing view of snowy peaks, including the Falak Sair mountain, which is nearly 6000 meters.
