Haleji Lake is located in Sindh within the Thatta district or region. It is a perennial fresh water lake which is covered by tall marshes and the brackish seepage lagoons. The lake is 16 feet deep and covers a surface area of approximately 4 kilometres square.

The lake is considered to be a breeding ground for a very distinct species of animals, which includes egrets, herons, spot billed duck, purple moorhen and cotton teal etc.
